Proof of our commitment

At Timanu, transparency and authenticity are paramount. That is why we commissioned independent laboratory analyses in France to certify the natural origin of our vanilla pods.

Why carry out these analyses?

Isotopic analysis measures the natural carbon signature of the vanillin present in each pod. Every cultivated pod carries a specific signature. These scientific tests ensure our vanilla is 100% plant-derived and contains no synthetic flavouring.

Origins of the analysed samples

To ensure optimal traceability, we separated analyses according to the geographic origin of the pods.

Sample T

−22.5 ‰

From plots located at the centre of Lifou island, where pods benefit from a more continental climate and moderate sunshine.

Sample M

−20.6 ‰

Taken from coastal zone plantations, exposed to marine influence and greater humidity.

How to read the results

Isotopic analysis measures a value called δ¹³C, the natural carbon signature of the vanillin.

  • 100% natural vanilla generally falls between −30 and −18 ‰.
  • Synthetic vanilla shows values above −10 ‰, as it is chemically produced.

Our samples show results of −22.5 ‰ and −20.6 ‰, confirming their natural origin.
